"My name is Michael Couper, and I am a classical saxophonist based out of Upland.
I am collaborating on a concert tour with a wonderful pianist from New York, Katie Reimer, February 20-26, 2012. We are presenting a program of contemporary (but accessible and engaging) works by Ligeti, Albright, Schuller, and a rising star, Mohammed Fairouz (www.mohammedfairouz.com). We recently released an album of Mohammed's Music, Critical Models, on the Sono Luminus label, which is receiving a great deal of positive press (www.sequenza21.com, www.wqxr.org)."

About Katie Reimer:

Acclaimed by the New York Times for her "meditative" playing, Katie Reimer is a New York City based concert pianist with broad interests as both a soloist and collaborative musician. She has performed in numerous venues in California, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, New York, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Texas, Vermont, and Wisconsin, and has appeared internationally in Austria (Vienna), Lithuania (Kaunas), and Sweden (Stockholm). Her solo and chamber appearances in New York City include Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Center, Miller Theatre at Columbia University, Symphony Space, the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Klavierhaus, Tenri Cultural Institute, and Le Poisson Rouge.
